Hi there!!!

I'm Bisqit, and this is my silly site dedicated to all the things I love :3
I figured here's a good place to talk about why I decided to make this website in the first place!

Firstly, I love making art, and like many artsy folk, sharing that with other people ✨sparks joy✨. For a while, that's what I did! I used to post my art to Instagram -- my own little digital gallery -- where friends and artsy wanderers alike could visit and enjoy my artwork!

That was, until Meta announced 💀da horrors💀 (~ Jan 2025), and informed us that they would be shoveling all public posts like fresh coal into their doodoo AI furnace. Sadly, even the GDPR (for us UK artists) couldn't hold that off forever.

"Yuck!" I thought. So naturally, I went looking for somewhere else to post my scribbles.

Except, it turns out, that Reddit, Facebook, Xitter, Tumblr, DeviantArt and most other mainstream platforms had all sold their souls to the big stinky AI companies.

"Boooo!!!" I said. "Is nothing sacred?"
By now, I was feeling somewhat hopeless about having no online space to host my art. At least, no space where the greedy AI hoovers wouldn't snort it all up and make it into sad nonsensical image soup for someone else's profit (ew).

BUT THEN!!

I found this YouTube video by Luvstar, which filled me with such pure, unfettered inspiration that I called it quits with my old Instagram page, and decided to make my own website!!

Well. Apart from the fact I'd never done that before.
But how hard could it be?

As it turns out... not as hard as I thought.

Let it be known that I have no formal programming education. Absolute zero (Hey! That's a Stone Sour song!)
I've tinkered with custom minecraft modpacks, texturepacks, my own minecraft server and I had a great passion for scratch.mit.edu when I was in Year 8, but I don't know what an SQL is, and I don't know diddly about computer servers.

I'm just figuring this webdevving malarkey as I go along. I don't have a clue what I'm doing, but I'm doing it anyway! And you could too!

I plan to make a little page to help newbies get into the indie web scene if they so wish, because it doesn't have to be this ultra-smooth, SEO Optimised, animation-crammed site that's popular nowadays, it can be a super simple HTML page with a splash of colour, or filled with as many button and blinkies as you can find! It is entirely yours, to make your own :].

Oh! Oh! Oh! And the best part?
No ads!! No Cookies!! No stinky trackers!! I don't even know how to do that!! Just a silly fun time, and hopefully, a little trip down memory lane with lots of silly references, jokes and a boatload of 2000s nostalgia >:].
